Judge’s Court, Pragpur
This wonderful small heritage hotel has shady verandas both upstairs and down, from where you can sit looking out towards the distant Himalaya while you sip a cup of tea.
The present owner’s grandfather was the judge for the local area and around the walls are invitations and honours from the Viceroy.
The gardens provide many of the fruit and vegetables for the home cooked meals as well as the delicious jams at breakfast.
Few visitors travel as far as Pragpur but those who make the journey find the hotel a throwback to the colonial past.
The historical significance and old world charm make this a unique place to stay in the foothills of the Himalaya.
