Indus Experiences – A B Corp Company
We are delighted to share a new milestone in our 31-year journey: Indus Experiences is now B Corp certified. This is something we are immensely proud of, especially as a smaller, independent family-run company.
Since our inception in 1995, we have worked on the principle that sustainable tourism begins with respect: for the environment, for the communities and cultures we encounter, and for the people who make our journeys possible.
Over the years, this philosophy has shaped the way we design our holidays and run our business, from our ‘Indus Gives Back’ initiatives and charity support, to our carbon-neutral travel programme and the local partners we work with throughout southern Asia.
B Corp certification extends our responsibility beyond the travel experiences we create. The rigorous assessment process looks at the business as a whole, across five core impact areas of governance, workers, environment, community and customers.
We are particularly proud to have achieved an overall B Impact score of 87.4, substantially above the median score of 50.9 for businesses completing the assessment. This demonstrates that our ethics, social and environmental goals are deeply embedded in the structure of our business.
For us, therefore, B Corp is both recognition and responsibility. It provides independent validation of practices that we have developed over many years, while also giving us a framework for ongoing improvement and seeking new ways to make a positive difference.
We will continue to support projects and charities close to our hearts, both overseas and here in the UK. This includes our work with the Kohima Museum in York, alongside our battlefield tours to north-east India, and plans to develop our partnership with the Heath Robinson Museum in Pinner.
Most importantly, we will continue with the utmost integrity to craft thoughtful, immersive travel experiences that connect you with the extraordinary people, cultures and landscapes of southern Asia.
Thank you for being part of our journey – we look forward to the next chapter together.
