On this trip to Kyrgyzstan we will see stunning landscapes and exceptionally good exposures of a range of different rocks from Precambrian to Holocene in age, present in thrust sheets in the Tian
Shan Mountains and in intra-montane basins. We will visit national parks, with abundantwildlife, and the territories of planned Global Geoparks. Our route passes through different landscapes, from glacial to semi-desert, with caves, canyons and lakes (possibility for boattrips and swimming). Our journey will also allow us a glimpse of the extraordinary culture of this remote central Asian country. We stay in hotels in the larger towns and guest houses in smaller towns. Transport is by coach and where appropriate by off-road vehicles.
