

Day 1: To Kolkata
Depart London (or any other regional airport) on an overnight Emirates Airlines flight to Kolkata.

Day 2: Kolkata Sightseeing
Arrive Kolkata in the morning with afternoon sightseeing to include the lovely Jain Temple, Victoria Memorial, National Museum and Mother Teresa’s Orphanage. Overnight at the Kenilworth Hotel
Accommodation: Kenilworth Hotel
Day 3: To Sibsagar via Flight to Jorhat with Afternoon Sightseeing
Morning flight to Jorhat then drive to Sibsagar. Afternoon sightseeing of Sibsagar-the capital of the Ahom Kingdom in 18th century, including the 200 year old Tank, the Shivadol, Vishnudol and Devadol Temples. Overnight at Brahmaputra Hotel.

Day 4: To Mon
After breakfast drive through verdant tea plantations to the border of Nagaland for border formalities. Visit the King and Morung in the first Naga village. 3 nights stay at Helsa Morung Resort.

Day 5: Local Village and Cultural Exploration
A fascinating two days exploring the lifestyle and culture of the local villages, including Longwa, Hongpoi,Tang, Lengha and Waktching. Meet with amazingly tattooed warriors - in the not so distant past the tattoos related to the number of heads the warrior had “collected”! Witness a pulsating Konyak war dance

Day 6: To Jorhat via Charaideo Maidam
After breakfast drive to Jorhat stopping to visit Charaideo Maidam the sacred burial ground of the Ahom kings and queens. After lunch in Nazira continue to Jorhat, passing through the famed Assam tea plantations. Overnight at The Kaziranga Golf Resort.

Day 7: To Majuli Island via Ferry and Afternoon Exploration
After breakfast drive to Neemati Ghat to take a ferry to Majuli Island. Late afternoon explore villages of the Islands Mising tribes and experience a Mising tribal dance performance. Two nights at The Ayang Okum River Bank Bamboo Cottage.

Day 8: Full day Exploration of Majuli Island
Majuli, is the world’s largest River Island, and famed for its twenty-two 15th C. "satras". These are Hindu Vaishnava (followers of Lord Vishnu) monasteries which highlight Assamese arts, through dance, music and poetry. Many satras specialise in specific arts and traditions i.e Kamlabari satra make the finest boats and Natun Samugrisatra excel at mask-making- where a Mask dance performance will be witnessed. Later there will be further visits to Mising villages and a dance performance.

Day 9: To Kaziranga National Park
After breakfast, return ferry crossing and then drive to Kaziranga National Park, a famed Tiger reserve and home to the one-horned rhino. The landscape is stunning and includes savannah grasslands, swamp forest and the fertile plains of the mighty Brahmaputra River. The park is a birders paradise with over 450 migratory and resident birds to spot. Also look out for wild elephants, Asiatic wild buffalo, leopards, sloth bears and numerous deer species. After lunch Jeep game viewing safari. Three nights at IORA- The Retreat.

Day 10: Kaziranga
Two full days with morning and afternoon safaris in the National Park for wildlife viewing. Experience the thrill of seeking out the shy tiger or malevolent rhino whilst driving through some of the 430 square kilometres of wonderful scenery.

Day 11: To Kolkata via Guwahati
After breakfast drive to Guwahati and visit the Kamakhya Temple in a complex of individual Temples dedicated to different forms of the mother goddess including Bhubaneshwari, Bagalamukhi, Chinnamasta, Tara, etc. The complex is an important pilgrimage destination for Hindu and Tantric worshipers. In the past human sacrifices were conducted here! Finally transfer to Guwahati airport to board the flight to Kolkata. Overnight at Swissotel.

Day 12: To London
Flight to London (or any other regional airport) with Emirates Airlines.
