Fergana to Agra – Legacy of the Mughal Empire Tailor-made

Wander ancient cities that still echo to the call of the fabled Silk Road, and, to prayer, from the gloriously decorated Mosques before exploring the Capital city of Delhi (Shahjahanabad during Mughal rule) and Agra where the splendour of the Mughal court reached its peak, as exemplified by the Taj Mahal.

Explore the highlights of Uzbekistan in a never to be forgotten journey of exploration. Explore ancient madrassas, magnificent mausoleums and Mosques. Wander Old Tashkent, see the superb World Heritage site of the intriguing Ichan-Qala Fortress and sip tea in a Yurt – if the nomads haven’t gone on their travels! Explore the fabled city of Bukhara. Pause at the stunningly beautiful Registan Square in Samarkand. Wander vibrant bazars and try your hand at cooking with a Masterclass. Watch the turn of a potter’s wheel and fascinating Samarkand paper making from Mulberry bark – indeed the famed Babur said the paper was the best in the world! Explore (Delhi) Shahjahanabad, known as Purani Dilli, established by the Mughal emperor Shahjahan in 1648. It was considered a gem of the empire and continues to be the heart of the Capital as well. Continue onto Agra to visit the masterpiece of Mughal Architecture.
