Day 2 : To Pondicherry Mahabalipuram
Morning drive to Pondicherry via the World Heritage site of Mahabalipuram, with its delicate Shore Temples, graceful Rathas and Arjuna’s Penance. Two nights at Palais de Mahe or similar. B

Day 3 : Pondicherry Sightseeing
Morning sightseeing of Pondicherry visiting the French and Tamil quarters, the Sri Aurobindo Ashram and international township of Auroville. Afternoon at leisure. B

Day 4 : To Kumbakonam Gangaikondacholapuram & Darasuram
Morning drive to Kumbakonam en-route visit Gangaikondacholapuram Temple and Darasuram – a UNESCO World Heritage monument. Overnight at Mantra Koodam or similar. B

Day 5 : To Chettinadu via Tanjore
Morning drive to Chettinadu - famed for its culinary delicacies and rich cultural heritage. Visit the superb Chola Brihadeeshwara Temple in Tanjore. Overnight at The Bangala or similar. B

Day 6 : To Madurai Evening Ceremony at Meenakshi Temple
Morning visit the Kings Palace and local market. Afternoon drive to Madurai. Evening visit the Meenakshi Temple to watch the “going to bed ceremony”. Two nights at GRT Regency or similar. B

Day 7 : Madurai Sightseeing

Day 8 : To Munnar

Day 9 : Plantation Walking Tour
Morning guided walking tour to tea plantations followed by a visit to a Tea Museum, to learn about the history of the traditional ‘cuppa’. B

Day 10 : To Periyar Spice Walk
Morning drive to Periyar. Afternoon spice plantation walk with an experienced naturalist. Two nights at Cardamom County or similar. B

Day 11 : Boat Ride on Lake Periyar
Morning boat ride on the Lake Periyar to watch the wildlife come to the shore to drink. Afternoon at leisure. B

Day 12 : To Houseboat
Early morning drive to Alleppey to board the converted traditional rice boat -Kettuvalam. Overnight on an air-conditioned houseboat. B, L, D

Day 13 : To Kochi
Disembark at Alleppey and drive to Kochi. Watch a pulsating evening Kathakali dance performance. Two nights at Casino Hotel or similar. B
