

Day 1: To Colombo
Depart London Heathrow on Sri Lankan Airlines flight to Colombo.

Day 2: Colombo & Horathapola
On arrival transfer by private vehicle to the Horathapola Coconut Estate for two nights. B, D

Day 3: Horathapola
Your day is at leisure to explore the coconut estate, visit nearby rural villages or simply relax by the pool. Kids will enjoy the ox cart ride around the estate and there is plenty of space within the grounds for them to explore. B, D

Day 4: To Wilpattu National Park
Morning departure for Wilpattu - the largest of Sri Lanka’s national parks and home to a wide array of wildlife, including leopards, and a dense
population of Sri Lankan sloth bears. Having checked into your camp there will be time to freshen up before joining your guide and tracker for a dusk drive through the park. Overnight at Leopard Trails Tented Camp. L, D

Day 5: To Sigiriya
Rise early for a last dawn drive through Wilpattu. After breakfast head to Sigiriya at the heart of the Cultural Triangle. Afternoon safari through the
stunning Minneriya National Park, famous for its 200-strong elephant population. Two nights at the Alliya Resort & Spa. B

Day 6: Sigiriya & Polonnaruwa
Early morning climb the impressive Sigiriya Rock built by the patricidal King Kasyapa. See the gorgeous frescoes of the 'Sigiriya Maidens’. Later, visit a typical Sri Lankan village for a fascinating introduction to local culture and indigenous farming practices. Later go on a cycle tour to explore the ancient Polonnaruwa, the 3rd C. medieval capital city, filled with glorious architecture. B

Day 7: Dambulla Caves & Elkaduwa
Today visit the cave temples of Dambulla before driving to Elkaduwa. The remainder of your day is at leisure with a range of activities on offer, including trekking out to discover the secrets behind tea production. Stay for two nights at Ashburnham Estate. B

Day 8: Tea Estate Tour
Join Ashburnham’s estate manager for a guided tour of the tea fields, where you’ll learn about the growing process, and meet some of the pickers. Go on scenic walks from a book of suggested routes that resort has put together B

Day 9: To Passekudah
Travel east, leaving the tourist trail far behind, and arrive at your beach resort by mid-afternoon to enjoy an afternoon. Stay five nights at Anantaya Passekudah B
Accommodation: Anantaya Resort & Spa – Passekudah
Day 10: Passekudah
Spend the day at leisure: playing on the beach, splashing in the pool, and enjoying unhurried time together B

Day 11: To Negombo
Late morning depart for Negombo. Overnight at the Jetwing Beach B

Day 12: To London
Transfer to the airport to for Sri Lanka Airlines flight back to London.
