Day 1 : To Colombo

Fly from London on direct schedule flight to Colombo.

Day 2 : Colombo

Met on arrival & transfer to hotel. Stay at the unique Tintagel Hotel, once the family home of the renowned Bandaranaike’s, and now an atmospheric luxurious private hotel. Overnight at The Tintagel.

Day 3 : To Anuradhapura

After breakfast drive to Anuradhapura. Afternoon sightseeing of the 5th C. BC capital of Sri Lanka; a model city planned with precision. See the revered Sri Mahabodi Tree – the world’s oldest authenticated tree. Three nights at the lovely Ulagalla Resort.

Sigiriya

Day 4 : Excursion to Sigiriya & Polonnaruwa

After breakfast, visit the Rock Fortress of Sigiriya built by the madly eccentric King Kasyapa in the 5th C. AD. Famed for frescoes of the ‘Heavenly Maidens’, and, an incomparable view from the top of the soaring 600 foot granite monolith. Afternoon visit the 2nd Medieval capital of Sri Lanka at Polonnaruwa and see the breathtaking carvings of the Buddha at the Gal Vihara: so beautiful and so serene.

Day 5 : Ulagalla

Today is at leisure to simply relax at the wonderful Ulagalla. The resort has a range of activities on offer from nature walks to horse riding and yoga.

Day 6 : To Kandy

After breakfast visit the Cave Temples of Dambulla before driving to Kandy. In the evening visit the Temple of the Tooth and then watch a Kandyan dance and cultural performance. Two nights at the delightful Kandy House.

Day 7 : City Tour

After breakfast tour of Kandy including a visit to the Art and Crafts workshop and the Bazaars.

Day 8 : To Dickoya - Ceylon Tea Trails Bungalow

After breakfast board train from Kandy to Hatton. Drive to a lovingly restored Tea Planters bungalow. It’s a charming journey, climbing ever higher through rolling hills dotted with verdant tea plantations. Two nights in one of the splendid bungalows of the Ceylon Tea Trails.

Day 9 : Dickoya – Ceylon Tea Trails - Tea Experience

Have a ‘Tea Experience’ with the Resident Planter. Follow the trail of the Planters of old Ceylon, as they trekked through the dense jungle looking for the best slopes on which to plant tea. At the tea factory watch the fascinating transformation as the leaves are processed to become the famous Sri Lankan "single origin tea".

Day 10 : To Yala National Park – Wild Coast Tented Lodge

Morning drive to Yala. En route stop at Ella Falls to enjoy breath-taking views. Stay two nights at the Wild Coast Tented Lodge.

Day 11 : Yala National Park – Game Drives

Today you will explore Yala National Park by 4WD. You will have morning and afternoon jeep game drives into one of Asia's finest wildlife reserves, accompanied by an experienced naturalist. The park's undulating terrain is home to a large number of elephants, but it is the thriving leopard population that garners most attention. After each day's morning drive, return to camp for a delicious lunch. Have time to relax, or to spend time spotting wildlife and birds from the camp itself. Then head out again in the afternoon for further exploration. Return in the early evening, as night falls, keeping an eye out for the nocturnal animals as they emerge.

Day 12 : To Weligama

Morning transfer by road to the southern coast of Weligama through spectacular scenery. Stay at luxurious Cape Weligama for six nights.

Day 13 : Excursion to Galle

Morning visit to the old colonial Fort of Galle to explore the atmospheric sights and sounds, including the Dutch Reform Church and National Maritime Museum.

Relax at the impressive Cape Weligama: be pampered in the spa, dip into the gorgeous pool overlooking the Indian Ocean, or simply enjoy your favorite cocktail, with a tea infused twist at the Cape Club.
