Unique Market Experiences In The Venice Of The East, Bangkok Tailor-made

When you are accompanied by a local English speaking guide who knows their city inside out and wants to passionately share their knowledge with their audience you genuinely get an immersive authentic experience and come back from your adventure with some insight of the visited destination.

Bangkok and the wider Bangkok Metropolitan Region (otherwise known as Krung Thep in Thai) is a huge, hot, humid, 24 hour bustling metropolis of 17 million inhabitants on the Chao Phraya River. Whether it’s the sultry heat or the different exotic aromas, colours or noises it’s truly an assault on the senses and will no doubt stimulate them!  Our exclusive 9 days Bangkok Markets Break is a private tour created with the aim of leaving an unforgettable imprint on your mind.  The 8 markets that are covered include 4 mainstream markets as well as 4 more off the beaten track ones which will show you a different hidden side to this dynamic vibrant city!

Being tailor made means that you will have maximum attention from the guide who will even be in a position to tweak the excursion to an extent based on your personal preferences.  The talad (the Thai word for market) is one of the key focal points of Thai society and is not merely a place where one goes to buy day to day shopping but is also a place where people socialise, get inspiration for the kitchen, are entertained and eat delicious street food so make sure you do indeed feast on some tantalising Thai street food.

Today you have your busiest day ahead!

As you progress into the tail end of your holiday today you will visit Mae Klong Railway Market on the outskirts of Bangkok where an active train line precariously cuts through the market where traders lay out their stalls on the track itself!

Your excursion will be timed to align with when a train passes through the market so that you can witness this surreal spectacle whereby stall holders remove their stalls at the very last minute.

After this you will whisked off to one of Bangkok’s many famous floating markets Damnoen Saduak Floating Market.

Your evening will consist of a visit to the recently established market Asiatique The Riverfront which as the name suggests is right on the river.

Here you will have the chance to unwind and regale in its carnival like atmosphere. B

Day 7 : Bangkok

Morning at leisure and afternoon/evening sightseeing tour of Changchui Creative Park (depart hotel at 16:00 & depart market at 20:00).

This afternoon you will be taken to the last of our hidden gems Changchui Creative Park on the rarely visited “Thonburi side” on the other side of the river (Bangkok is divided by the river into the “Bangkok side” which is where tourists spend most if not all of their time and the off the radar “Thonburi side”) where you will mingle with local Bangkokians going about their daily lives (it will be very hard to miss the real Lockheed L-1011 Tristar aircraft that forms the centrepiece of the market!).

An interesting fact about markets in Thailand is that they sometimes become the resting place of decommissioned aircraft which are carefully repurposed as, for example, a fine dining luxury restaurant as is the case here at Changchui Creative Park – we can make a reservation for you for this unique experience. B

What our clients say

We were very pleased with the organisation of our visit to Kamptee. With such short notice, you did a great job getting the contacts with the gentleman, Father Sebasti who in turn made contact with Noel Joseph and in turn George Taj. We were thrilled that our guide Irfan and driver Mr Singh, rearranged our afternoon so that we could wait till Noel could return…
